Not a subsitute for EMT Shears

I was looking for a pair of outdoor shears that would be kind of a Swiss Army knife of shears. I went to a local FR/EMT/Police Equipment/Uniform store for a EMT Belt and saw these same shears there. They look like they can do a lot and serve a lot of different things other than just cut. I took the set to the counter where the lady asked what I was going to use them for. With Wilderness First Responder/Urban Survival Equipment in mind she did not recommend them. She said she bought a pair for camping and was not happy with them. The prime function is lacking…..cutting. Because of the breakapart design, it did not hold the blade tight enough together to cut well. She also added that they weren’t really a good substitute for a set of EMT Shears. I took her advice and bought two set of EMT Shears, both a large set and a medium pair and have not been disappointed in either. The large ones will cut through a penny and other soft metals, and turn right around and smoothly cut paper, med tape, or cloth. Again, I didn’t personally use these 12 n’ 1 shear so I’d say if your think about these, find a pair and try cutting some stuff with them before committing to them.
