Thanksgive-away Winner: Helping Soldiers THRIVE

Check out the winning submission for our Thanksgive-away from Pat in Missouri! Pat made a tasty Thanksgiving stuffing with THRIVE and also shared a great way to use THRIVE foods to help others this season.

“My daughter is a vegetarian, so for Thanksgiving dinner I usually make cornbread dressing using vegetable bouillon cubes to make it meat-free for her.  This year I am excited to use THRIVE Chicken Bouillon because it is vegetarian friendly!  Before I put the dressing in the oven, I’m going to put half the dressing in one pan for my daughter, and then mix the other half with 1 cup of rehydrated THRIVE freeze dried Sausage Crumbles to surprise my husband with sausage dressing.

We also provide care packages to soldiers using addresses found at www.anysoldier.com.  Our son returned home from Afghanistan this time last year, and he told us what the troops really need is fruit, so I’m including some THRIVE pantry cans in my packages!  I ordered some more pantry cans during our Black Friday sale—9 pantry cans fits very nicely in the largest USPS box.”

In fact, Pat asked us if she could get a few pantry cans instead of a #10 for her prize so she could stick them in her boxes for the soldiers! She told us the pantry cans were great for the care packages not only because of their convenient size, but because the soldiers don’t always have access to can openers and the pantry cans pop-top lids make for easy opening. Thanks for such a great example of using THRIVE to help others, Pat! Did you use THRIVE to give thanks this season? Comment below to let us know what you did!
