Storage Conditions
Temperature: Storing THRIVE at a high temperature can significantly increase the speed that calories and vitamins will degrade over time. In the correct storage container, low-moisture foods such as THRIVE can be stored at room temperature or cooler (75 degrees Fahrenheit or lower) and remain nutritious and edible for years. Our stated shelf life assumes that the product will be stored in optimal conditions.
Humidity: The effects of humidity on a closed can are caused by heat and very similar to the effects of high temperature (see above). High humidity can corrode the cans and in some cases even cause the cans to leak. Areas with high humidity can reduce the opened shelf life of the product. As humidity varies with location please use your own discretion to prevent possible sickness from eating spoiled food.
Damaged Container: Minor dents in the center of the can are usually just a cosmetic issue. However, a can that has been dented near or on a seam can have a compromised air-tight seal and allow oxygen to enter the can. If this is the case we recommend using the dented can within the specified opened shelf life, rather than closed.
The best way to maintain the highest quality of your THRIVE products is to take care of them. If you intend on storing your food for the sealed shelf life, store the cans in a place that is not open to elements such as water, light, and air. Take care of it. Don't expose it unnecessarily to the elements. Also, be sure to keep the temperature and humidity low and even. Under these proper storing situations your THRIVE will maintain its delicious taste, natural coloring, and proper nutrients.

great taste but disappointed
This butter has great taste. However, I'm VERY disappointed that it can not be used for 'frying' and cooking. It just sticks to the pan and burns. Since the primary purpose of ordering it was for that use, I wish the product description would include that important fact. As a result we are able to use it mostly in a sprinkle container and put it on vegetables, etc. and in baking. Very convenient.

ick
I was hoping for a good alternative to butter for spreading on bread, muffins, etc. Not possible with the rancid taste. I will not purchase this product again.

Great for added flavoring
Finally had the chance to order a pantry can of this item. It's delicious! Tastes just like butter. I was surprised to see it as a white powder in its dried state, but once you add water to it, it turns a light yellow. I've tried it in a couple of savory rice dishes, and it's adds great taste and flavor. I'll definitely order more for to keep on hand for emergencies.

Tastes fabulous like real butter!!!
Love, Love, Love the butter. Tastes like real butter, but is a lot more spreadable. Hint: Use cold refrigerated water when making the butter and it will be a lot less lumpy in the beginning and you won't have to stir as long. Also add water one Tablespoon at a time until desired consistency is reached. Yummy!!!

Excellent for baking!
Used the butter powder (and whole egg powder) in my from-scratch banana bread. 1/4 cup powder to 1 Tbsp. warm water worked beautifully. [used fresh mashed banana, BTW]
Baking time and results were the same as usual. We used the extra butter on the warm banana bread -- YUM!
Will continue to use both products for baking, and will probably stop buying butter from the dairy case.
I continue to be impressed with your products!Quality

Wonderful to have on hand
I love this butter powder. I use much less water than the directions call for. I also use warm water to mix it and then chill it for several hours or over night if I am using it as a spread. If using it in baking I just add it. You can do either; add the dry powder to the dry ingredients and a little extra water to the wet ingredients or you can blend the powder and water into butter and then add it to the recipe. I also love the powder sprinkled on popcorn. Great product, great taste, great price.

Fabulous!
The butter powder is excellent! The taste is fresh and good. I have used the butter powder in cooking vegetables, baked goods, cakes, and cookies. Every recipe that I have modified and replaced regular butter with the butter powder has turned out very well! This will become a staple in my household.

A good substitute
I did not follow the instructions. I used way less water, and put it in the fridge for a few minutes. At first I was not sure. I used it in a sauce, and the sauce was really good. I also made bread and it was a good substitute for regular butter. It was very creamy and sweet. My family liked it. I don't know why I am surprised everything we have ever tried has been great.

European butter taste
My customers all love it, and agree it is like Land O'Lakes! Great stuff. I do more of a 2:1 ratio, or else it is too liquidy.

Use this for your baking and for spreading
I use 1 cup of butter to 1/4 cup water to make 1 cup of butter for making cookies etc. You have to play with the water ratio. I have been told it is good for spreading on toast. You have to decrease the water somewhat (add it by Tablespoon - one at a time) add a pinch of salt and a pinch of sugar, refrigerate and wala you have butter for toast! Flavored butters are yummy.

Love it!
The first time I tried it I wasn't a fan. I have come to realize the taste is amazing when I'm careful with how much water I put into. ( I do not follow the 1:1 ratio!) I have found that letting it sit over night gives it a better texture and you can't beat that smooth, creamy consistency! It really is wonderful. I show it at every tasting.

Not like the picture
Be warned, this product does not resemble the picture. It is a thick liquid. You cannot "spread" this butter on anything. I made cookies and muffins with it substituting for the butter. It is fine that way. Had to use more flour because the batter was thin. That said... I think this is a good alternative to real butter which may not be available for some reason. Just know what your buying so you don't have any unpleasant surprises!

Amazing!!! Worked like the real thing!
I made suger cookies for Valentines Day over the weekend and I replaced the regular butter with Thrive butter. I also used the powdered shortening, eggs and milk that Thrive carries and I must say they turned out amazing! My family and friends loved them. I also used the powdered butter (dry) in the frosting with just a little milk to soften it up and it turned out great too! I'm so thrilled! I just ordered a case of 6!

great for baking!
Added the powder to my recipe and it works! Also rehydrated to use on the pan when I made pancakes--it worked too!
When rehydrated it has the consistency of heavy cream -- can add more to make it thicker, though I haven't been able to figure out how to harden it up (stays liquid). I don't know that I would use it alone on bread, but it works great in recipes!Quality

Movie Theater Buttered Popcorn without the mess
Had a can of this we needed to use, so started thinking about various options and just happened to try sprinkling the powder onto freshly made popcorn. I'm not sure my family would have it any other way now and we all agree the taste is like hot, buttered popcorn at the movies, but because we're using the powder, you don't end up with the greasy mess all over. Reconstituted, it's better than any other butter we have tried. When I bake bread or rolls, my family really prefers the Thrive butter.

Fabulous for plain ol' eatin'!
Our family of seniors, "somethings," teens, and babies are crazy about the butter powder reconstituted. We eat it "au natural." Haven't tried in a recipe yet. I mean it, my Land O' ...days may be over! Daughter-in- Law did a taste test with a former butter powder brand we had in storage for "That BIG Catastrophic Event". Ang said her family of seven can no longer bring themselves to eat the previous brand "straight up," will try to use in recipes so as not to waste.

OK for baking
Opened a can to try with baking for chocolate chip cookies etc along with the powdered eggs. The items are more dense than with traditional ingredients but the kids ate them up! Have extra chocolate chips on hand to make up the difference!
