THRIVE® Double Chocolate Chip Ice Cream Bars are melt in your mouth delicious. Each bar is made from real ice cream that is freeze dried, so it is ready to eat straight from the can. Freeze dried ice cream is an extremely delicate product. Therefore we cannot guarantee that THRIVE Ice Cream Sandwiches and THRIVE Double Chocolate Chip Ice Cream Bars will arrive completely intact. The ice cream comes individually wrapped in thin paper wrapper that keeps each sandwich or bar together, but there is the possibility of broken pieces.

Storage Conditions
Temperature: Storing THRIVE at a high temperature can significantly increase the speed that calories and vitamins will degrade over time. In the correct storage container, low-moisture foods such as THRIVE can be stored at room temperature or cooler (75 degrees Fahrenheit or lower) and remain nutritious and edible for years. Our stated shelf life assumes that the product will be stored in optimal conditions.
Humidity: The effects of humidity on a closed can are caused by heat and very similar to the effects of high temperature (see above). High humidity can corrode the cans and in some cases even cause the cans to leak. Areas with high humidity can reduce the opened shelf life of the product. As humidity varies with location please use your own discretion to prevent possible sickness from eating spoiled food.
Damaged Container: Minor dents in the center of the can are usually just a cosmetic issue. However, a can that has been dented near or on a seam can have a compromised air-tight seal and allow oxygen to enter the can. If this is the case we recommend using the dented can within the specified opened shelf life, rather than closed.
The best way to maintain the highest quality of your THRIVE products is to take care of them. If you intend on storing your food for the sealed shelf life, store the cans in a place that is not open to elements such as water, light, and air. Take care of it. Don't expose it unnecessarily to the elements. Also, be sure to keep the temperature and humidity low and even. Under these proper storing situations your THRIVE will maintain its delicious taste, natural coloring, and proper nutrients.

Interesting
I was initiailly dissapointed when I opened my #10 can as all the bars were broken into little, bits. It did make it easier to share with everyone who was trying them, but I would expect them to be whole. I personally loved the texture when just sucking on the bits (didn't even think you could re-constitute these) tasted like an old style ice cream fudge bar. We got mixed reviews from eveyone else who tried them some just crunched them up and said they were like a chalky chocolaty tums.

Tastes Good but...
I just received my pouch with 1 serving. The taste was chocolaty and I liked the chocolate chips in it. I tried it without reconstituting and it was very good a bit creamy in texture and dense.
I found the price for the pouch with 1 serving to be way too expensive for one serving. The price per serving in the #10 can is better.

So VERY good!
I tasted these at a Home party and loved them. I haven't tried to reconstitute them with water because they are so tasty straight out of the can. Ordered 3 cans for my long-term storage but couldn't wait. The first can is half gone and I'm ordering more.

WOW !!!
We just received our package today and could not wait to try the double chocolate chip ice cream. My husband and I could not believe how good it is. I did not know what to expect but I am glad I tried it. I will definately buy more. Thanks for have some alternatives for your sweet tooth friends.

Incredible!!!
I have purchased so many items from Shelf Reliance, and I must say....these are awesome!!! My little boy and I enjoy these together for an afternoon treat. They don't melt like ice cream on your clothes and face...but definetly melt in your mouth! Wonderful comfort food, if ever needed for an emergency!! Love them!!!

These are the most amazing tasting things on earth! I am sorry about Zugbuggers experience, ouch! I've opened hundreds of these cans and never once had that happen. And my ice cream bars were all in tact, I had to manually break them into pieces for everyone to try. I thought these were the most decadent melt in your mouth desserts, that I could eat and then just die. As much as I love the freeze dried yogurt bits (especially the blueberry), I prefer these chocolate double chip bars, and I'm not even near the chocoholic my husband is. I find just breaking off the smallest piece and letting it melt in my mouth is just the most satisfying thing.

Shattered
First, be careful reaching into the can to remove the ice cream, I promptly cut my finger, the edge is sharp. Second, every single item was shattered into a hundred pieces! Just barely held together by the paper surrounding it. Tasted fine, liked the little chocolate chips. Flavor is fine if you crunch on it dry, but it's not like the yogurt bits that you can melt in your mouth, too pasty. This would be a great comfort snack if your are actually living off your food storage in an emergency situation, but won't work for back packing or school lunch (unless your pour pieces into a zip bag and snack on all the little pieces. The ice cream sandwiches were broken too, but not shattered like these. But try them, you'll like the flavor.
