  • 6 c prepared beef bouillion
  • 3 c thrive fd roast beef dices
  • 1⁄2 c thrive fd onion
  • 1⁄2 c thrive fd celery
  • 1⁄2 c thrive fd sweet corn
  • 1⁄4 c thrive fd bell pepper
  • 1⁄2 c thrive tomato powder
  • 2 T chili powder
  • 1 T smoked sweet paprika
  • 1 t granulated garlic

Combine 6 C water and Thrive Beef Bouillion. Bring to a boil. Add all other ingredients, stir thoroughly. Return to boil, cover and turn off heat. Allow to sit for 15 minutes.

For a spicier chili, add .5 tsp Chipotle pepper powder. Smoked Sweet Paprika is optional in this recipe, but it truly makes a huge difference-- giving it a slow cooked, smoky flavor. If you like your chili without a tomato base, substitute 2 T. corn meal for the tomato powder.

beef bouillion

How much beef bouillon is actually used in the water?

Beef Boullion

For Thrive Beef Boullion, its 1/2 tsp. per 1 cup of water. There are 6 cups of water in this recipe, so that equals 3 tsp. of beef boullion. You can use more if you prefer it saltier or more strongly flavored, but I find this amount works well and doesn't overpower the other ingredients. :)

We've made it many times and it's always awesome. This is perfect for outdoor activities, as well.

Chili with additions

I can't follow a recipe with any exactness. So, with that in mind I took this basic recipe, pulled out the corn & celery my husband would freak over, added dehydrated tomato pieces, a can of tomato paste, cumin, more chili powder, a can of kidney beans, and about 1/4 cup oatmeal just for grins...It was FANTASTIC!

Oh, and I just dumped it all in together at once and increased the simmer time.
