  • 1 1/4 c. warm water
  • 2 1/4 tsp. Instant Dry Yeast
  • 4 c. Honey Whole Wheat Dough Mix
  • 12 pecan slivers (just break pecan halves in half)

  1. In a mixer, combine the warm water and the yeast.
  2. Slowly add the dough mix, using the dough hook attachment to mix. Scrape down bowl occasionally.
  3. Knead for 5 minutes on medium speed.
  4. Shape dough into a ball and place in lightly greased bowl, turning dough ball to coat. Cover with plastic wrap and set aside to allow dough to rise until double in bulk (about 40 minutes).
  5. Punch down dough and form into a log.
  6. Using kitchen shears (or unflavored dental floss) cut the log into half, then cut each half into half again. This will give you four log pieces. Each of these pieces should then be cut into thirds. You will have 12 pieces.
  7. Take one section of dough and roll firmly between your palms. Roll into a tight, smooth ball. Take your kitchen shears and snip into the edge of the dough eight times equal distance apart. Do not cut all the way through.
  8. Place on greased baking sheet. Repeat with remaining dough. Cover lightly with a sheet of plastic wrap lightly sprayed with cooking spray. Allow to rise.
  9. Remove plastic wrap and bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Garnish with a pecan sliver.
