"Gimme Thrive" Grandma's Biscuits

These biscuits really take me back in time. Enjoy them with butter and jam or honey, or with gravy. They melt in your mouth! Makes about 30 biscuits.

  • 2 1/4 tsp. Instant Dry Yeast
  • 1 c. warm water
  • 2 c. buttermilk
  • 3/4 c. vegetable oil
  • 2 tbsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 1/2 tsp. Iodized Salt
  • 7 c. White Flour (All Purpose Unbleached Flour)

  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Combine yeast and water in large mixing bowl and stir till dissolved.
  2. Add remaining ingredients and stir until well blended.
  3. Pat/roll out 3/4" thick and cut with biscuit cutter OR place in greased bowl and place in fridge until needed (will keep a week in the fridge).
  4. Bake for 15-20 minutes.
