  1. Measure all ingredients and set near the stove.
  2. Saute the garlic until lightly browned in a medium sauce pan.
  3. Add in the beef and stir to coat, de-glaze the pan with the sherry.
  4. Once sherry is soaked up add in the water.
  5. Add in remaining ingredients, except the espagnole sauce.
  6. Reduce at a low simmer for 10 minutes.
  7. Add in the espagnole and simmer for 2 more minutes.
  8. Taste and adjust as needed.
