You can make the dish spicier by adding in more red pepper flakes. Add toasted sesame seeds for garnish, if you wish. Makes 4 generous servings.

  1. Boil the ramen as directed on the package. While ramen is boiling, allow carrots to soak in 1/2 cup water. Drain ramen and set aside till ready to add to dish.
  2. In a large skillet over medium high heat, pour in the shredded beef and 1 cup of water. Allow the beef to simmer and refresh in the skillet for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add the refreshed carrots and the broccoli to the skillet with the beef. Add in 2/3 cup water (adding more if necessary). Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring often to help the veggies refresh.
  4. Add remaining ingredients (except the green onions) to the skillet and simmer till the liquid thickens (about 3-5 minutes).
  5. Reduce heat to medium-low. Add cooked ramen and green onions to skillet mixture and stir until heated through and coated in sauce. Remove from heat and serve.
