Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp. THRIVE Butter Powder
  • 3 tbsp. Vegetable Shortening
  • 2 c. White Flour (All Purpose Unbleached Flour)
  • 1 tbsp. Baking Powder
  • 1/4 tsp. Iodized Salt
  • 1 c. milk or THRIVE Milk
  • 1/2 c. Chocolate Syrup
  • 1/2 tsp. Vanilla Extract
  • 3 tbsp. Cane Sugar
  • 3 eggs or THRIVE Scrambled Egg Mix

Directions

  1. You will also need cooking spray, confectioner's sugar, and/or berries or fruit of your choice and extra chocolate sauce.
  2. Melt the butter and shortening in a small saucepan, stirring to combine; remove from the heat and set aside. Whisk the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar in a large bowl.
  3. Whisk the eggs, milk, chocolate syrup and vanilla in a large liquid measuring cup or separate bowl. Whisk the egg mixture into the flour mixture util combined. (The batter will be slightly lumpy). Whisk in the butter mixture until combined.
  4. Preheat oven to 250 degrees F. Preheat a waffle iron and spray with cooking spray. Ladle some of the batter into the waffle iron to within an inch of the edge (1/3 to 1/2 cup of batter, depending on your waffle iron); cook until crisp.
  5. Transfer the waffle to a baking sheet and keep warm in the oven. Repeat with the remaining batter.
  6. Top waffles with confectioner's sugar, fruit, berries and/or chocolate syrup. Enjoy!
