Cinnamon Pear Oatmeal

by Joy Cochran on October 24, 2014 This is a quick and easy oatmeal recipe that is enjoyed at my house. You can substitute crumbled or chopped Granny Smith apple slices for the pears; however, at my house, pears are a definite favorite!

Ingredients

  • 2 C Water
  • 1 dash Sea Salt
  • 1/2 C THRIVE Pears
  • 1 C Quick Oats
  • 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/8 C Brown Sugar or to taste

Directions

  1. Bring water, a dash of sea salt, and freeze-dried pears to a boil over high heat.
  2. Stir in 1 cup of oats. Turn heat to low. Simmer 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Stir in cinnamon and brown sugar (you can also substitute honey or raw sugar) and remove from heat.
  4. Cinnamon Pear Oatmeal will continue to thicken slightly as it cools after removing from heat. Serve with a pat of salted butter, if desired.
