A friend asked if I could create a Creamy Chicken and Corn Chowder recipe. All of the ingredients are able to fit into a wide mouth quart jar. For a quick meal is to empty the contents of the jar into a pot of water, stir and heat until done. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 1 c THRIVE Potato Chunks
  • 2 tsp THRIVE Chicken Bouillon
  • 1 c THRIVE Sweet Corn - Freeze Dried
  • 1/4 c THRIVE Chopped Onions - Freeze Dried
  • 2 tbsp THRIVE Celery - Freeze Dried
  • 2 tbsp THRIVE Carrot Dices
  • 3/4 c THRIVE Chopped Chicken - Freeze Dried
  • 1/4 c White Flour (All Purpose Unbleached Flour)
  • 2 tbsp THRIVE Sour Cream Powder
  • 2 tbsp THRIVE Velouté (Rich Chicken Gravy)
  • 1 tsp Iodized Salt
  • 5 c Water
  • 1 1/2 c 2% Milk
  • 1/4 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1 pn Ground Nutmeg
  • 1 clv Garlic
  • 1/4 c Butter, salted

Directions

  1. Melt butter in a large sauce pan. Add garlic and saute until fragrant.
  2. Add the rest of the dry ingredients to the saucepan then add 5 cups water. Mix well.
  3. Bring to a boil then turn heat down and simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Add 1 1/2 cups milk to the soup and stir well. Continue simmering for another 5 minutes or until desired consistency. You can add more or less milk to reach the desired consistency.
  5. Optional: Add 3 strips of crumbled bacon to the soup as a garnish.
  6. Note: All ingredients will fit into a wide mouth quart jar.
