A friend asked if I could create a Creamy Chicken and Corn Chowder recipe. All of the ingredients are able to fit into a wide mouth quart jar. Make ahead, and for a quick meal, empty the contents of the jar into a pot of water, stir and heat until done. Enjoy!

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Melt butter in a large sauce pan. Add garlic and saute until fragrant.
  2. Add the rest of the dry ingredients to the saucepan, then add 5 cups water. Mix well.
  3. Bring to a boil, then turn heat down and simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Add 1 1/2 cups milk to the soup and stir well. Continue simmering for another 5 minutes or until desired consistency. You can add more or less milk to reach the desired consistency.
  5. Optional: Add 3 strips of crumbled bacon to the soup as a garnish.
  6. Note: All ingredients will fit into a wide mouth quart jar if you want to make ahead and store. Just omit the celery, milk, water, and butter until it is time to make your chowder.
