Fry Biscuits

These homemade biscuits are made and then fried in a skillet on top of the stove in butter. These are great for nights when you don't have time to fix hot rolls. by Michelle Huston

Ingredients
- 2 c. White Flour (All Purpose Unbleached Flour)
- 2 tbsp. THRIVE Honey Crystals
- 1/4 c. THRIVE Butter Powder
- 1/3 c. Shortening Powder
- 3 tbsp. THRIVE Instant Milk Powder
- 1 tbsp. Baking Powder
- 1 c. Water
- 6 tbsp. Butter, salted or THRIVE Butter
Directions
- Combine all dry ingredients in a bowl.
- Add water and mix until a soft dough forms Turn dough out onto a floured cutting board and kneed the dough a couple of times until smooth and elastic.
- Pat into a circle approximately a half an inch thick.
- Cut with a floured biscuit cutter of desired size.
- Melt 3 tablespoons of butter in skillet over medium heat.
- Place half of the biscuits into the pan and cook until golden brown on one side. Then flip over and cook the other side until golden brown.
- Place in a warm oven and cook the remaining biscuits in the remaining 3 tablespoons of butter.
- Watch your biscuits carefully as they will brown very quickly and can burn.
- Serve with butter and jelly if desired.
