Ingredients

  • Dough
  • 1 can THRIVE Country White Dough Mix Pantry Can
  • 1 pkg.2 1/4 tsp Instant Yeast
  • 1 c. + 2 tbsp Warm Water
  • Filling
  • 1 tbsp. Garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp. Olive Oil
  • 1/2 c. THRIVE Ground Beef (Hamburger) - Freeze Dried
  • 1/2 c. THRIVE Tomato Sauce
  • 1/2 c. THRIVE Chopped Onions - Freeze Dried
  • 3/4 c. THRIVE Tomato Dices - Freeze Dried
  • 1 tbsp. THRIVE Italian Seasoning Blend
  • 1 can 2.25 ounce Olives
  • 3/4 c. Green bell peppers, sliced
  • 1/2 tsp. Red pepper flakes- optional
  • 2 1/2 c. Water
  • 3 c. Mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 Egg, for egg wash

Directions

  1. Make dough according to can directions.
  2. Let rise for 45 minutes or until at least double.
  3. For filling saute garlic in oil until caramelized.
  4. Add in remaining ingredients, except for cheese, olives and egg.
  5. Bring to a simmer and simmer until thick about 3-4 minutes.
  6. Add in olives and set aside until dough is done rising.
  7. Once dough is done rising split the dough into 6 even pieces.
  8. Roll each piece into a circle.
  9. Place 1/6 of the meat mixture onto the dough and sprinkle 1/2 cup of the cheese on top of the meat.
  10. Brush edges of dough with egg wash, fold dough over and pinch edges, and fold to seal
  11. Repeat for remaining calzones.
  12. Brush tops with egg wash and bake in a 375 oven for 15 minutes, or until golden brown. (Sprinkle tops with Chefs choice seasoning before baking)
