Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp. Garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp. Butter
  • 3/4 c. THRIVE Pulled Pork - Freeze Dried
  • 1/2 tsp. THRIVE Chefs Choice
  • 1/4 c. THRIVE Onion Slices - Freeze Dried
  • 1/4 c. THRIVE Red Bell Peppers - Freeze Dried
  • 2 tsp. THRIVE Espagnole (Savory Beef Gravy)
  • 2 tbsp. THRIVE Green Chili Peppers - Freeze Dried
  • 1/4 c. THRIVE Green Beans - Freeze Dried
  • 2 c. Water
  • 1 can Pineapple Tidbits, 8 ounce can and juice
  • 4 tbsp. Rice Vinegar
  • 1 tbsp. Soy Sauce
  • 1/3 c. Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 c. Ketchup
  • 1 tbsp. Cornstarch, mixed with 1 tbsp cold water to make a slurry
  • Steamed Rice
  • 1 3/4 c. THRIVE Instant White Rice
  • 1/2 tsp. THRIVE Chefs Choice
  • 1 3/4 c. Water

Directions

  1. Bring water and chefs choice to a simmer and add in rice. Cover with lid and turn to low. Cook for 6 minutes, or until water is gone and rice is tender.
  2. In a medium skillet, saute the butter and garlic together until lightlly brown, add pork, chefs choice, onion slices, red bell peppers, espagnole, green chilies, green beans, and 1 1/2 cups of water to the pan and bring to a simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add in remaining ingredients (except for steamed rice ingredients), allow to simmer for an additional 5-6 minutes or until sauce thickens.
  4. Place rice in a bowl and top with the sauce.
  5. Yield: 3 1/2 cups sweet and sour
