Turkey Brine

Ingredients
- 1 10-16 lb Turkey
- 1 1/2 C Iodized Salt
- 1 1/2 C Cane Sugar
- 1/3 C Parsley
- 1/3 C THRIVE Italian Seasoning Blend
- 1/3 C THRIVE Salad Seasoning Blend
- 1 Tbsp Garlic, minced
- 1 C THRIVE Onion Slices - Freeze Dried
- 2 Tbsp Orange Zest
- 4 C Orchard Apple, prepared
- 4 C Cranberry Juice
- 16 C Water
Directions
- Combine all ingredients together into a bucket, set the turkey into the brine.
- Add more water, if needed, to ensure the bird is fully covered.
- Stir well to dilute the sugar and salt.
- Swish the bird around to make sure the brine is mixed well, and all over the bird.
- Place a heavy bowl to weight the bird down into the brine.
- Brine for about 6 hours or over night.
- After brined and before roasting, strain off the brine and save if you want to reuse.
- Make sure the bird is dry.
- Rub the bird with seasoning and then oil, stuffing the cavity with aromatics from the strained brine.
- Roast until internal temp hits 160 degrees and allow to rest for 30 minutes.
