Changed 13 people found this helpfulYou've changed the ingredients in the ground beef and ruined what was a great, simple product. I was ready to place another order when I checked the ingredients list and read the fillers, flavorings and chemicals that you've now added (Corn? Hydrolyzed What?). The previous ingredients in the ground beef were "beef, salt and rosemary". It was perfect and extremely flexible. The primary reason that I shop Thrive foods and not others is because the foods are nearly unadulterated. If this is a sign of things to come, I'll have to shop elsewhere. Please roll back the hands of time on this decision. Some may find this satisfactory but readers should know that the reviews prior to 2013 apply to the previous version of the product.

A Pleasant Surprise! 1 people found this helpfulI wasn't sure what to expect as this was my first experience with freeze-dried meat, but I'll definitely buy it again. I used this ingredient in making pizza and my family loved it. I like that there was zero grease, that it reconstituted nicely just by sprinkling it over the pizza sauce, then topping with veggies and cheese. This product is super convenient and I love that the tin sits on the counter and I don't need to mess around with grease or defrosting procedures - it's ready when I need it.

Surprised that I love it 1 people found this helpfulI haven't eaten red meat in quite a while because it always made me feel awful, and didn't think I'd like this particular product, but my husband loves beef and so I finally gave it a try. Wow, I was impressed! I made Easy Asian Lettuce Wraps and they were absolutely wonderful! Every bit as good as what you get in very expensive Asian restaurants. Everyone loved them. Then we started putting the Thrive ground beef into other dishes like chili, tacos, enchiladas, quesadillas and pizza. Love the fact that it doesn't need to be thawed and cooked, and it's so easy to only use what I need. Really cuts down the time it takes to make meals and eating it doesn't affect me negatively like regular ground beef does. Like just about everything else THRIVE sells, this one's a keeper.

Delicious!!! 1 people found this helpfulI opened a can of this freeze dried ground beef to put in a pot of homemade vegetable soup. Oh. My. Goodness!!!!! This stuff is delicious! No one knew that I'd used freeze dried meat in my soup and everyone loved it and wanted more. I will buy MORE of this for sure!

This has many advantages 2 people found this helpfulAfter hesitating buying fresh ground beef for many reasons..safety of meat, freshness, shelf life, spillage, etc. I found a solution.
Any recipe requiring ground beef can be prepared without a trip to the supermarket or defrost time.
The greater advantage is the assurance of thorough cooking, minimal fat and it tastes just like high quality ground beef in recipes such as enchiladas, soups, spaghetti sauce, chili.
It will be the only form of ground beef I use from now on.
