Works in a Pinch 5 people found this helpfulI love Cuban Black Beans I often make using canned beans. Unfortunately, unless I did something wrong, the instant black beans did not turn out as good. I cooked them in water 15 minutes first, then added them to the other vegetables (celery, onion, green pepper, garlic, etc.) with spices and lemon juice for an additional cooking time of 25 minutes. At no point in the cooking process did the beans soften, but I still ate them slightly crunchy. Healthy, but I will save them for emergency situations.
